In this article we are going to do a quick and honest review of the lunch box diet. To be perfectly honest with you, there really truly isn't that much to cover! The principles are sound - but NOT revolutionary, and other than the unique and novel name (which is ALWAYS a great selling point for a diet book..;-) the foundational elements of the lunch box diet are quite ordinary, and have been a staple of dieters EVERYWHERE for quite some time.
Read on as we shed a little light on what YOU need to know to decide for yourself!
Fundamentally, the lunch box diet is for people on the go. ( which these days, is just about ALL of us, isn't it?) The premise is that we all tend to overeat at work, or on the road. Simon's (the author) remedy for this problem is to pack a lunch box and fill it to the brim with ONLY healthy foods. He further recommends that you snack throughout the day on what you packed, never eating until you are full...but rather simply satiating your hunger with little bits here and there between major meals. Sounds ok, right?
Simon has a fairly extensive group of foods he recommends - primarily, as you would imagine, HEALTHY snacks! Things like carrot sticks, broccoli crowns, lean chicken strips and more make up the "bones" of this approach to shed those unwelcome inches for summer. (and beyond!) Remember, this little pamphlet is NOT much of a book - I've gotten thicker guides in the mail, and for FREE..:-) But, Simon seems to be a well intentioned sort, and the guide has gotten some nice reviews, most notably from Elle magazine.
Save your money folks, some nice thoughts and good ideas, but overall NOT going to revolutionize your body for the beach any time soon!
