Keep Your Youngster Stylish for Less with Baby Clothes

The tabloids are filled with what look like glamor shots of the rich and famous' kids. From Suri Cruise to Violet Affleck, it seems like they are average kids, except their baby clothes cost more than your entire wardrobe. However, that doesn't mean that your little one has to look the part of an average joe. Baby clothes can be adorable without costing an arm and a leg. Here are a couple of tips for keeping your baby looking luxe for less.

First, reach out to friends and family! Do not worry about being proud or self-sufficient. This is your kid we're talking about. If anyone around you has had a child in the past three to four years of the same sex, chances are they still have some baby clothes that could be of help to you. Because the people most likely to have hand-me-downs you can use will have bought them in the past several years, it is unlikely that the clothes will be out of style, either. Moreover, if you are willing to ask for hand-me-downs, you have literally given your friends and family a carte blanch to buy plenty of new duds for your stylish little one, as well. It's a win win situation, and worth taking advantage of.

Another thing to take advantage of when desperately seeking out baby clothes is consignment or resale shops in your area. Kids grow out of their clothes too quickly to justify spending fifty dollars for one outfit. This is especially true with baby clothes. That doesn't mean you won't be able to find some spiffy ensembles for a steal at resale shops. Some even specifically cater to toddlers and younger, making you less likely to spend your time sifting through bins of clothes. However, even cheaper than your average resale store is going to be a shop like Goodwill. You can literally get some baby clothes there for fifty cents an item. Now that's a bargain!

If you don't feel comfortable asking for help, and you feel a little squeamish about used clothing, you still have options for baby clothes. Outlet stores will carry designer brands for a fraction of what they originally ran. This means you can get brand new outfits for a song that will make your child look like they stepped out of a catalog. Don't be afraid to try Walmart or Target either. Their onesies run around three to four dollars, and you can get whole outfits for around ten bucks. Don't worry. These get-ups don't look cheap, either. You'll be able to find some really nice quality clothes for play and special events at both locations. All of these options are at least worth a look.
